On Thursday the 14th, we woke up early enough to go to Cologne. When we got there the Germans went to the guided tour that was to take place in the Cathedral and the rest were divided into groups. We Portuguese, except for João Silva who was with his host, we stayed with the Irish and we all went to walk the streets. The first one we went to was a souvenir shop where we found quite a few things but were pretty much 3 guys so hardly any of us bought anything, then went to see the other shops but the ones because of the Irish, the shops we entered the most were sport shops. But we also entered a store related to fantasy films and stories from another world, with Harry Potter or The Walkuing Dead.
But when we entered that store we soon realized that almost everything there was very expensive and we ended up not buying anything. When we just saw the shops we went to lunch at Mcdonald's and we all ate together. Then we went to the Chocolate Museum, but on the way there one of the Irish Adam found 5 euros, crossed the river and a small part of the Christmas market. When we finally got to the Chocolate Museum we went to see the chocolate shop and bought some soon. Afterwards we were distributed by the groups and went to our guide. The guide explained where the cocoa seed grew, where this tree existed, why the seeds grow so low, where we can find the cocoa tree, how to make chocolate and what ingredients are needed and how long it took to prepare the seeds. beans, which were inside the seed, to become chocolate. We saw the machines needed to make chocolate and the different steps necessary for the chocolate to be well made. After we tasted chocolate the guide told us about the history of chocolate, which was about the time of the Maya and what time it was for everything and how it evolved from there. When the visit was over, we went straight to the Cathedral, but before that we passed a Christmas market that was right next door. After seeing a lot of the market we went to our colleagues and teachers who were waiting for our guide who was going to take us to the Cathedral. The Cathedral was quite beautiful and large and its history had all these characteristics. The visit did not take long but it was able to learn some things. After this the teachers let us go strolling in the Christmas market and going to eat anything. Me and the people who were with me went to eat a traditional German food, a Bratwurste was quite good. After that we still went to Mcdonald's because some did not want to eat, and after that we went to wait for the bus. Patrícia Mariz

I woke up at 6 30am, and then I took a shower. When I finished my shower I put on my clothes and ate breakfast with my host family. They were very nice to me, every morning, and I realized that Alex didn't take breakfast, their gastronomical habits are very different from mine, because I can't do my daily life without my dear breakfast.
We arrived at school around 7.40 am and went directly to the theatre room to discover about that day’s activity. The teacher split us into groups of 6 and we went to 6 different restaurants around the city to taste a traditional food/drink and to learn more about the food habits of the German people. In the afternoon we went to Dortmund to a Christmas market. When we arrived the teacher gave us 3 hours to be free and to buy what we wanted. I went with some of the Irish students and some of my Portuguese mates, we bought some chocolates and I bought a Dortmund jacket, a German club that I support. We got to Iserlohn around 8pm, Alex and I went home to get some rest because it had been a tiring day. I had dinner and as usual Alex and I went to "my" room to play a bit of playstation before we went to sleep. It was an awesome day. Jácome Bruges The day started early in the morning, at 7.30am I was at the bus going to school, I arrived and went to see my Portuguese group. The German teacher told us to go to the atrium to present our work. Every country did their presentation, the Germans started, after them the Irish followed and then the Swedish and French and we were the last group; every single one of us was so nervous, but it ended up really well, we presented our power point and our video and everyone applauded, our teachers were taking photos and recording and to be honest it was a rewarding experience to see them so happy and proud. This was the end of our work and the funny part was about to start! We were all separated into groups, in each group here was needed at least one person from each country, and so we did it. The objective of these groups was to choose a traditional dish/dessert from each country and write down the recipe, our group went to the library to write down everything. All the recipes concluded, it was time for us to put on our jackets to go to the supermarket and buy all the ingredients. While at the supermarket I looked at the prices and I was amazed, things there were cheaper, so I went to find the Portuguese to show them and we ended up at a chocolate corridor amazed with the variety of chocolate and how cheap they were compared to chocolate in Portugal. My group was the last to finish the purchases, and after that we put everything in the teacher’s car and walked together to the school where we were going to cook. Everything ready and set to start cooking, the kitchen was huge and there was space for all of us! Everyone cooked a traditional dish/dessert from one’s country, I was with João Tomás and we decided to cook sweet rice, everything was going just fine and then we noticed that someone had used our milk…Bastian (French boy) used our milk to do his crepes, we needed it and we kind of freaked out but the German teacher helped us to solve the problem and got us the milk! We cooked in total 8 trays of sweet rice! It was really good to see everyone working together to cook and the best was that at the end we got to eat everything! We left school at 4pm, and I went with Nuno and Kevin (Nuno’s host) to Kevin’s house to chill out for 1 hour. At 5.30pm we left Kevin´s house to go to the train station to meet some of the Erasmus+ students. We were going to what we called the “German Bounce” a place full of trampolines in Hagen, we got on the train all together to get there. It was an awesome evening and at the end we ate some Kebab together and went for a walk in Hagen. This day was amazing full of great experiences and surrounded by awesome people! Catarina Jorge
