Regional, National, and lnternational Aspects of Food and Eating Cultures
in the Context of the European lntegration
Food on Europe's Table is a KA2 ERASMUS+ project that has the overall objective to make students aware that eating and eating habits are part of the European culture that is continually changing. The example of eating culture shows the economic interdependence of the countries within the European Union, and beyond. On the regional level the focus is on the production and the supply of food, local food suppliers as well as food producers are examined. On the European level the focus is on the trade of food, policies on food, e.g. regarding the production, labelling, (over-)production. The topic of food exemplifies the basic characteristic of the European Union, unity on the one hand and diversity on the other.
